James Dinneen

Bio

James Dinneen is a science and environmental journalist from Colorado, based in New York. At New Scientist, he covers all things environmental, along with other curiosities. His writing has also appeared in Science, National Geographic, The Boston Globe, Scientific American, Undark, Discover, Yale E360, Wired, bioGraphic and Smithsonian, among others outlets. His investigation for Undark on aging dam infrastructure was a 2022 National Magazine Award finalist and won the American Society of Journalists and Authors award for investigative journalism. He has a master's in science writing from MIT, and studied history and philosophy at Colorado College. He likes maps.
